International calling help

My girlfriend is coming to the states for a month.

She’s from New Zealand.

She needs to work while she’s here. Does anyone know the most economical way to do international calls from a cell phone?

She will need to call New Zealand, and Australia.

I’ve heard google-fi, but wasn’t sure if I could get her a SIM card or what.

Any info would be great.

most cell companies have a international plan with one charge then you get the same rate internationally

At least T mobile has this plan and it's not too expensive

Yea. But her clients need a WhatsApp account. She will be cold calling some, and have regular clients.

I used mine in Colombia last year. I didn’t think of that, duh. I have Verizon. Not sure what her carrier is. I’ll ask her.

My Verizon International Plan is $ 10 for every 24 hours. Calls, texts and data.

If you start 1PM Monday you can use it until 1PM Tuesday to make calls. That can be two days of work calls

If minimizing expense is a top priority, that's not a bad option

I did that with my Verizon in Colombia. I’ll have to see if her NZ carrier offers something similar.
